Calm in the gym at De Syv Have.

The gym at Børnehaven De Syv Have was used for everything from wild games to group time and movement. But the room's hard surfaces caused long reverberation, and the noise level rose quickly. This made it hard for the children to hear instructions and for the staff to keep their voices down throughout the day.

Our consultant Jonas Lundgaard Munkstrup went through the gym with the staff: how the room is used during the day, where the sound builds up, and which surfaces could be used for sound absorption. The ceiling was free and made up the largest unused area.

The solution was four ceiling zones with acoustic panels from SilentArt, placed to reduce reverberation where the activities take place. The panels are printed with nature motifs, so they also give the room a calm visual look — without taking up floor space or limiting play.

The noise level in the gym dropped noticeably, and the room got a calmer atmosphere. The staff find that the children can concentrate more easily, and the gym is now also used for activities that require calm — including yoga and quiet focus.
